Designed and built in the UK, Campod Caravans are manufactured using the highest quality, predominantly UK-sourced materials.
During the design process, we looked at a number of popular small caravans on the UK market to identify their strengths & weaknesses, and found a common theme; while they all had a number of benefits in their own right, many owners online lamented the lack of space and cramped feeling inside. We set out to tackle that issue specifically.
Campods provide all of the practicalities of a small caravan (easy to tow, easy to store & easy to maintain) without the cramped, claustrophobic feeling when you're inside.
Our wide range of accessories & upgrades allow you to customise your Campod to suit your needs & style of holidaying.
Unique features
Campods are built on a custom designed chassis and have a unique recessed footwell to provide full standing height without increasing the overall dimensions. This gives the interior a spacious, roomy feel aided by the side-opening hatches and large main arch window.
The 4-6 person seating/dining area converts into a king size bed, making it dual use and saving precious space. This is incredibly important in a 2 berth caravan.
With a lightweight fibreglass shell, Campods can be towed by almost any vehicle (including those with small engines!) and are easily manageable for a single person.
Thick acoustic foam insulation helps keep the Campods warm in the colder months, and stay cool in warmer summer months, but also has the added benefit of making them relatively soundproof - so you won't have to worry about being disturbed by caravanners on neighbouring pitches.
There are lots of other features that make the Campods unique to the leisure industry - click the button below to view the full list of features.
We have a very varied customer base, but they all have one thing in common; wanting to make the most of their free time, with as little hassle as possible.
Campods provide an easy way to holiday and explore without wasting time on things that don't provide any enjoyment. They're easy to tow (the aerodynamic design reduces the impact of cross winds), easy to set up (the entire process takes just 10 minutes), comfortable and versatile.
If any of these apply to you, Campods will be a great fit:
• Limited free time to get away
• Limited storage space for a caravan/tourer
• Tow vehicle with braked towing allowance on the low side (< 1,200kg)
• EV owner
• Solo explorer
• Couples/young families
• Former owner of a larger caravan who is tired of the hassle involved with setting up/breaking down
• Fan of "whistle stop"/multi-destination tours
• Looking for a high quality, UK-built touring option
• Wanting freedom to customise a leisure vehicle to your exact needs, rather than buying a preset package
Still not sure? Why not book an appointment to view a Campod at our premises in South Gloucestershire & have a chat with our team. We'll be more than happy to show you around, answer questions, demonstrate features and have an honest discussion about whether Campods will work for you.

During the initial design phase of Campods, we looked at a wide range of other leisure vehicles that are available on the UK market. We picked out the strengths & weaknesses of each and, using our decades of design and manufacturing experience, came up with ways to integrate the best features of other vehicles while solving some of the problems their weaknesses presented.
Here are a few side-by-side comparisons:
Campods vs Go-Pods
Go-Pods are a very popular Portuguese-built micro tourer that have been around for ~ 15 years in the UK.
While they offer many practical benefits (able to store at home unobtrusively, relatively easy to tow, quick to set up) a number of current owners report difficulties in managing in such a tight space.
The internal layout maximises the use of the limited space available, but the lack of headroom is a commonly reported "sticking point" for prospective owners.
We adopted a similar layout for Campods (kitchen & wardrobe storage by the door, seating/dining/sleeping area towards the front of the caravan) but, to solve the headroom issue, designed a chassis with a unique recessed footwell to provide full standing height throughout while retaining a low overall profile. As a result, Campods don't suffer from the same cramped / claustrophobic feeling as Go-Pods (and many other small caravans).
Campods vs Freedom Caravans
Freedom Caravans are probably the longest-established small caravan brand on the UK market. Manufactured in Poland, they've been sold under the Freedom Caravans brand name for around 40 years.
While they remain a popular option for those looking for a compact, easy to manage holiday option, there are numerous reports of quality issues online and a lack of both internal & external aesthetic options for customisation.
The wide range of models on offer can also make it difficult to determine which would be the best fit for your specific needs.
Campods offer a wide range of customisation options & unparalleled build quality. With our galvanised steel chassis & aluminium frame, Campods are built to last.
Campods vs Mink Campers
Mink Campers are an Icelandic brand of teardrop camper which entered the UK market in 2021.
Described as a "sports camper" their marketing material features Minks crossing rugged terrain in Scandinavian countries & a minimalistic approach to outdoor holidaying, with an outdoor kitchen, no integrated sink or cooking facilities and limited customisation options.
Owners report that Mink Campers seem not have been designed with the UK climate & caravan culture in mind, especially with the outdoor kitchen - not great when the weather is unpredictable and can take a turn at a moment's notice!
With a Campod, you have all of your cooking facilities inside while being able to "let the outdoors in" with the wide opening side hatches. Awnings are available to further increase your living area.
Campods are designed & built entirely with the modern UK tourer in mind.
Campods vs Swift Basecamp
The Basecamp is the smallest offering from large manufacturer Swift Caravans, designed to be used as a base for outdoor sports enthusiasts.
While it appears to be a small caravan on the surface, it's actually more of a "mid-size" caravan - as if you took a large, twin axle caravan and chopped a third from the rear. They're 5.1m long, 2.3m wide and over 2.6m in height, which makes storing them at home out of the question for most.
While they have a number of great features and options, owners report frequent issues with damp and water ingress and the rugged, minimalist interior design isn't for everyone.
The seating/dining area of Campods converts into a luxurious double bed using plinths to bridge the gap above the footwell, and the backrest cushions from the seating area fill the gap. Making the bed takes just a couple of minutes.
The bed is 1.55m wide by 1.88m long, making it wider than a UK king size but slightly shorter. The bed can be made up as a double or 2 singles, using cleverly designed extension flaps hidden beneath the seat cushions.
